Choose a sweep when the tank is uncertain
A sweep is designed to look for evidence of a buried or undocumented tank. It is most useful when the home has an older heating history, a gas conversion, unusual pipes or a transaction that needs a clearer property record.
Choose an inspection when the tank is known
An inspection focuses on a visible or documented tank: its condition, connections, access, visible corrosion and the practical questions around next steps. It does not replace a search of the yard for another unknown tank.
